Sonya hosted our 2nd Monday fiber group this month and gave us a delightful tour of  some of the Finnish textiles that she grew up with. Such exquisite linens, so expertly created gave me something to strive for and made me proud that I, in a small way,  continue in the art of making cloth from thread.  So thank you Sonya for opening your home to us and for so joyfully sharing some of your families history.

We managed to enjoy a wonderful meal before a winter storm finally rolled in. The beet soup was festive and yummy, and Kathleen’s cardamon cake was a real treat. I’m looking forward to our March gathering and the possibility of spring being right around the corner.
