So this is the day before Thanksgiving and I find myself procrastinating ( a speciality of mine) and instead of baking pies, or whatever, will show you our November gathering of fiber friends at Kathy’s home.

We were expecting colder weather but it was a warm enough day that we didn’t even need the fire that Kathy was planning on.  Probably good because this was a larger group and I’m not sure how you socially distance while trying to stay warm by a fire.  We may have to figure that out if our gatherings continue into the winter.

Regardless this was a wonderful day of mulling over recent political craziness,  and letting go briefly of the isolation that will make this a challenging winter for all of us.  I am so thankful for this group of talented, creative, intelligent women who inspire in so many ways and just knowing any of them are just a phone call away, makes everything a bit more bearable.

I also need this group so that I actually push to get something off of my looms.  I finally got the last of the bamboo twill scarves off of the loom and to VIVA Gallery.  It would be good if I could get a few more things in to the gallery but with the spike in Covid cases recently I’m not sure how many people will be willing to go in. Theoretically I will be getting them listed on this website soon.  But first there is a house to sort of clean and daughters to definitely hug, and soon a turkey to stuff.  Life is good.  Give thanks where you can this season.

Oh and I have survived puppydum to see Maisie Moose’s first birthday.  My house not so much, she is gradually gnawing away on the deck railings and posts and even some of the log siding on the house, nothing made of wool is safe and lets not even talk about shoes. Hmm, what was I thinking?

Turned twill bamboo scarves along with my newest book purchase. Can’t wait to dig into some of these designs.

It is hard to hear what everyone’s conversation is, but we did our best. Barb is knitting away on a sweater and a closeup of Janet’s baby blanket

Maisie

Maisie has survived to her first birthday. Despite eating any woolen thing in the house she also apparently eats bamboo. I made the mistake of getting a box together to show a friend and went upstairs to get a shower and found her having her way with my lovely cones of bamboo. Sigh… Good thing she is cute

Turned Twill Bamboo Scarves-09789

Elin has been busy weaving as always. The plaid poncho is one of her first ever weaving projects.  The pink scarf Anne Marie is wearing was one I wove and was destined for the trash, but she took the time to remove all of the wormed rayon chenille floats and voila, she has a new cozy scarf.
